Dénia celebrates 10 years as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy with a program of activities running until 2026.
The anniversary celebrations include family shows, the D*na Festival featuring chefs from four continents, concerts, and cultural events that reflect the culinary and creative identity of the Marina Alta region.
The celebration, which kicks off in September and runs well into 2026, aims to be a shared tribute to a decade of “cooking up creativity,” with events that combine reflection and citizen participation.
The first major event will take place on Saturday, September 20th, with a family-friendly show of humor, circus, and magic in Plaça del Consell, presented by chef Marcelo Mascarpone and his assistant, Pepino Pepperoni. This will be the prelude to the D*na Festival, which the following weekend will bring together five Creative Cities of Gastronomy—Parma, Tsuruoka, Mérida, Zahlé, and Nkongsamba—to showcase the culinary diversity of four continents through cooking demonstrations, tastings, and workshops.
The Dénia Musical Association will join the program with a special Saint Cecilia’s Day concert on November 30th, featuring a revival of the soundtrack for Gamba Roja de Dénia, a symphonic poem premiered in 2017.
The anniversary celebrations will continue with cultural, social, and educational activities throughout 2026, reaffirming Dénia’s membership in an international network of 56 Creative Cities of Gastronomy. A decade later, the capital of the Marina Alta region can truly boast of being a “perfect 10 city.”
The Dénia Musical Association will hold its traditional Saint Cecilia’s Day Concert on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the Auditorium of the Dénia Social Center.
The concert, organized with the support of the Dénia City Council, Dénia UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, and the Valencian Regional Government, will feature the association’s symphonic band, conducted by its artistic team.
As is customary, this annual musical event will pay tribute to Saint Cecilia, patron saint of musicians, and celebrate the dedication and work of the association, one of the most deeply rooted in the city’s cultural life.
The event is part of the annual activities of the Dénia Musical Association’s school, which is supported by the Salom Sabar Foundation, among other collaborating organizations.
Entrance is free, but reservation is required at www.notikumi.com
