Unlike the more popular southern approach from Dénia, the trail from Jesús Pobre offers a quieter, more rugged and natural experience. The path winds through Mediterranean forest, rocky terrain, and narrow mountain trails. As you ascend, the views open up gradually, rewarding you with an increasing sense of space and solitude.

What to expect?

Be prepared for a demanding climb: with an elevation gain of about 700 meters, this hike is not for beginners. Some sections are steep, rocky, and poorly marked at times, so a good sense of direction is essential. But for experienced hikers, the reward at the 752-meter summit of Montgó is unforgettable – a sweeping panoramic view over the Marina Alta coastline, including Dénia, Jávea, and Cabo de San Antonio. On clear days, you can even see the outline of Ibiza shimmering on the horizon.
