Playa La Granadella is the perfect escape for those seeking natural beauty, peace, and adventure—a cove that feels remote, yet offers everything you need for an unforgettable day at the sea. Voted most beautiful beach in Spain!
Playa La Granadella: A Hidden Gem for Snorkeling & Serenity
Tucked into a sheltered cove on Jávea’s southern coastline, Playa La Granadella is one of the most iconic beaches of the Costa Blanca. Surrounded by steep pine-covered cliffs, this small pebble beach—only about 160 m long—is known for its crystal-clear waters and rugged natural beauty.
Ideal for Nature Lovers & Water Enthusiasts
La Granadella is a favorite spot for snorkeling, kayaking, and diving. The underwater landscape is rich in marine life, with posidonia seagrass meadows and rocky formations that make every swim an exploration. The beach is part of a protected marine area, ensuring both water clarity and ecological richness. Blue Flag Quality & Facilities
Despite its remote feel, La Granadella has Blue Flag status, guaranteeing clean waters, safety, and good services:
- Seasonal lifeguards, first-aid, toilets, and showers
- Sunbed and parasol rentals during the summer
- Nearby kayak and paddleboard rentals for exploring the cove and sea caves
Hiking & Adventure
The beach is also the starting point for several beautiful hiking trails, including the scenic route to Castell de la Granadella—an 18th-century coastal fortress with panoramic views. These trails offer an active alternative to a full beach day and are popular year-round.
Eating & Relaxing
Two small restaurants near the beach serve fresh seafood, paella, and refreshments with unbeatable sea views. It’s recommended to reserve a table in high season.
Access & Parking
Access to La Granadella is via a narrow winding road through forested hills. Parking is limited, especially in July and August when access is often restricted to shuttle services to preserve the environment and control crowding. Arrive early or check local transport options in summer.
